I am So Happy to be up at 3 AM

The baby kicked me in the head at 3 this morning.  He was hungry.  I was so thankful he did that.  There are so many wonderful things you can see and do at 3 in the morning that you cannot see and do during the day.

So, for me - this week - Happiness is waking up at 3 AM, so that I have the opportunity to...

Look out of the back deck and see a beautiful orange Moon

 Watch Federer play Tsonga

Have a quiet cup of hot chocolate

Being okay with the utter chaos

Read awesome blogs from some amazing women and learning what happiness means for them

Watching my healthy kids sleep peacefully

Being loved and sharing love

Being able to exclusively breastfeed - and bond in one of the most intimate ways possible.

 Seeing yet another beautiful sunrise!

Take some time to tell us what happiness means to you.  Lisa at Crazy Adventures in Parenting has started a weekly series called "Happiness Is_____" Take some time to tell us what happiness means to you. Every Wednesday she will be having a link up for others to share what Happiness is to them. So go check that out and link up! You can also follow others along with the hashtag #HappinessIs on twitter and Instagram. Hope to see you there spreading the happiness!

    1. Haha! I wonder!~ Thanks so much for stopping by.

When I read your comment, I realized I made an oops, and didn't properly credit the orange moon source.

I actually couldn't get a clear picture. My camera is terrible. www.home.hiwaay.net. I will not forget again.

  4. Holy wow, that moon is AWESOME!!!! And I absolutely ADORE your perspective! I often feel the same when I'm awoken to breastfeed and co-sleep. Best feeling in the world to snuggle our babies, isn't it? :) And I freakin' LOVE tennis, too!

    1. Looks like we have a lot in common. I will wake up at 3 AM to see Federer any day - but that wasn't the plan today.

Gray is starting to get wild, so being kicked in the face is more of a norm now! But, the snuggles are definitely worth it!

  5. I agree with the beauty of that orange moon! How awesome to have captured it. I should have stopped by to share some of your hot chocolate since I was up, too!! I remember all those precious middle of the night moments, they are to be cherished and pass by so fast.

Every week for the last two years, I've posted a Thankful Thursday and sometimes I think it's the only thing that keeps me focused on the positive...remembering to be consciously happy is key =)

    1. We were up together! So nice to have a companion that early. The hot chocolate was delicious! Truly!

I agree. With life the way it is, it's always wonderful to remember how thankful you are - just for the little things. The tiny little blessings that you have each day - makes the bad stuff that sometimes life brings - a bit more bareable.

  7. I'm not sure I would have been so excited about being up at 3am, however I love that you are taking the time to appreciate the small things, the things that most people might be upset about. To me, happiness is the smiles and laughter in my boys. I am happy when my family is happy. :)

  8. I could watch my boys sleep all night. Knowing that they are happy and healthy and away in dream land. Way to go on the breastfeeding. Some of my happiest memories will always be the quiet time with my baby, just rocking and nursing.
